Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy covers the Council for Economic Education’s competition hub sites at nec.councilforeconed.org, nic.councilforeconed.org and npfc.councilforeconed.org (the “Hub Sites”). The Hub Sites share information, practice materials and coach resources for our national competitions. Registration and exams happen on a separate platform, competitions.councilforeconed.org, which has its own Privacy Policy. By using the Hub Sites, you agree to the practices in this policy.

1. Information you give us

You can browse the Hub Sites without giving us any personal information. We collect personal information only when you choose to provide it.

Newsletter sign-up. We ask for your name, email address and role (educator, volunteer, parent, high school student or friend of CEE), your confirmation that you are at least 13 or at least 18, and whether you want marketing emails. We use this to send the updates you ask for. You can unsubscribe using the link in any email.

Contacting us. If you email us or use a contact form, we collect your name, email address and anything you include in your message, and we use it to respond.

Please do not send sensitive personal information through the Hub Sites.

2. Information collected automatically

When you visit, CEE and the service providers that run the Hub Sites may collect your IP address, browser and device type, referring and exit pages, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit. We use this information in aggregate to understand how the Hub Sites are used and to improve them.

The Hub Sites use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, which uses cookies to collect this information and report it to us in aggregate. Google’s use of this information is governed by Google’s own privacy policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

The Hub Sites use cookies to keep pages working, remember settings and measure use. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, though some site features may not work without them. The Hub Sites load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser sends your IP address to Google when a page loads.

3. How we share information

We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. We share it only:

• with service providers that host the Hub Sites, send our emails, or help us run our programs, under contracts that limit their use of the information;
• with CEE’s state councils and centers, so they can tell you about programs and competitions in your state;
• when you ask us to; and
• when needed to comply with the law, respond to legal process, or protect the safety, rights or property of CEE, our users or others.

4. Links to other sites

The Hub Sites link to sites we do not control, including the competition platform, My Classroom Investor (powered by Vanguard), and registration sites run by state partners. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.

5. Students and children

The Hub Sites are designed for high school students, teachers, coaches and families. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, please email help@councilforeconed.org with the name and email address involved, and we will delete it.

6. Your choices

You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time. You may ask to see or correct personal information you gave us through the Hub Sites by emailing info@councilforeconed.org, and you may ask us to delete it by emailing help@councilforeconed.org. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state law, and we will honor them.

7. Security

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorized access, and we ask our service providers to do the same. No website is perfectly secure.

8. Visitors outside the United States

The Hub Sites are hosted in the United States. If you visit from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, whose laws may differ from those where you live.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy and will post the new version with its effective date. Continuing to use the Hub Sites after a change means you accept the updated policy.
